Introduction

  1. The purpose of these statements is to document and communicate to all involved parties (e.g. customers, shareholders, employees, society) the management policies of Hotel Amarande in order to establish its philosophy, strategy, values and culture company.

 

  1. Quality, sustainability, food safety, occupational safety and the working environment are the main components of our company, along with financial prosperity. The vision of the creators of the Amarande Hotel was to create a hotel, that would be a model for the guests, designed for adults, with high 5* standards and at the same time an excellent working environment for the employees.

 

  1. The company’s policy covers the following topics:

  1. All policy statements are directly linked to the company’s vision, mission, values, and culture, and include a commitment to comply with applicable legislation, a commitment to continuous improvement and set the main points for defining and reviewing thematic objectives.

 

  1. The Hotel’s management prepares, drafts, approves, revises, and adapts the hotel’s policy statements according to the new data.

 

  1. The hotel management communicates and explains the policy statements to all its executives and staff. They are also disclosed and available to travel agents, customers, partners, suppliers, government authorities and other interested parties.

 

The company was founded in 1982 by the late Takis Pavlou, a very respected and remarkable man. In 1984, the works were completed, and the Bella Napa Hotel opened for the first time. Its successful course lasted until 2019, when it was decided by the children of Takis Pavlos, who are now shareholders, to completely renovate and transform the hotel into the 5-star Amarande Hotel. Amarande integrates elegance, comfort, and minimal style with a sophisticated and modern design.

Quality Management Policy

Our primarily principle and commitment are to provide our customers with high-quality services and products that fully cover their requirements and expectations and improve the level of quality management as defined in the applicable legislation and requirements of ISO 9001:12015.

To achieve the above: 

  • We have implemented quality management systems in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, which are applied to all hotel activities and functions that have an impact on product/service quality and customer satisfaction.
  • We examine, assess, monitor, and review the external business environment and the internal operating environment, the needs, expectations of customers, employees, and stakeholders in all matters of policy statements.
  • We identify threats and opportunities, plan actions and prepare an action plan on the issues of the policy statements as part of the company’s strategy, vision, purpose and principles and values.
  • We set measurable and objective goals for the topics of policy statements. These goals are reviewed and evaluated in terms of their degree of achievement by the hotel management.
  • We monitor, measure, and evaluate critical parameters and processes.
  • We periodically check to confirm the effectiveness of the management systems in order to take the necessary corrective actions.

Food Safety Policy

  The main principle and commitment of our hotel and every member of our team is the preparation and presentation of safe food and beverages and the improvement of the level of food safety management as defined in the applicable legislation and the requirements of ISO 22000:2018.

To achieve the above:

  • We have adopted food safety management systems in accordance with ISO 22000:2018, which apply to all hotel activities and operations that have an impact on food hygiene and safety.
  • We analyse the risks based on a risk study which assesses the probability of occurrence and their severity. We identify the critical control points and control points, considering the legislation, the recommendations of the competent authorities, sensitive consumers (consumers of special diets) and new scientific data.
  • We apply all the provisions of the risk study for the production and distribution of food that meet the needs and expectations of users, in a way that completely guarantees their hygiene and quality.
  • We support the Food Safety Team with all required means and resources.

 

Occupational Health and Safety Policy

The primarily principle and commitment of our hotel and every member of our team is the safety and health of employees, customers and third parties and the improvement of the occupational safety management level as defined in the applicable legislation.

To achieve the above:

  • We have adopted occupational health and safety management systems in accordance with legislation, which apply to all hotel activities and operations that have an impact on health and safety and the environment.
  • We have created a culture of safety and health sensitivity.
  • We have a complete and up-to-date occupational risk assessment study, which assesses the likelihood and severity of risks and defines control measures.
  • We take and monitor appropriate control measures to eliminate risks and reduce risk.
  • We manage incidents that harm human health and/or the environment to prevent from happening again.
  • We engage and consult with employees and support the Safety Committee with all required means and resources.
  • We prepare and train to deal with emergency situations.
  • We maintain the hotel facilities and equipment according to the highest possible levels of maintenance and cleanliness, functionality, and efficiency.
  • We provide all staff with the required facilities, the necessary equipment and means, information and training for the prevention of accidents, dangerous incidents and other undesirable situations related to Safety & Health.
  • We record and investigate all Health & Safety incidents, as well as other deviations from operating system procedures and instructions, so that corrective and preventive actions are taken to avoid their recurrence.
  • We check periodically to confirm the effectiveness of the Safety & Health system in order to take the necessary corrective actions.

 

Environmental management policy

One of the main principles and commitments of our hotel and every member of our team is to reduce our environmental impact and improve the level of environmental management as defined in the applicable legislation, the requirements of ISO 14001: 2015 and other standards.

To achieve the above:

  • We have adopted quality management systems according to ISO 14001:2015, which are applied to all the hotel’s activities and operations with an impact on the environment.
  • We identify, assess and review hotels’ environmental goals, impacts and objectives.
  • We apply good practices and measures to protect the environment and prevent pollution.
  • We monitor and measure the following important areas of environmental impact: Use of materials, hazardous substances, equipment, devices and accessories, energy, and water.
  • We manage equipment and materials until the end of their life cycle.
  • We promote cooperation with local authorities and organizations dealing with environmental issues.
  • We involve the employees, and they develop their environmental awareness and sensitivity.
  • We prepare and train to deal with emergency situations.

 

Policy of equal treatment, protection of minors and employment

Our hotel is against any form of discrimination and harassment of an employee, customer, supplier, or any other person on the basis of race, colour, culture, national origin, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, political opinion, income, physical or mental disability and any other characteristic. The equal treatment policy applies to all decisions, terms and conditions of employment, customer service, supplier, and service provider contracts.

We condemn all forms of exploitation of minors, including sexual exploitation and are against child labour. Prohibition of child labour is a basic principle in all collaborations between our hotels, suppliers, service providers and extends to children of customers. We ensure that all employees are trained in children’s rights, in recognizing cases of child abuse and in applying the corresponding procedure. All suspicious activities will be reported to the appropriate local authorities, whether originating from customers or employees.

One of the core values ​​of our hotel is respect for our employees and for this reason:

  • All employees receive benefits in accordance with the respective legislation which are given in full and on time at the end of each month.
  • We offer our employees all the benefits they are entitled to, based on the law, e.g. Social Security, rest, annual leave, and suitable working hours, as well as additional benefits e.g. free meals during working hours, uniforms, and training.
  • We offer a safe and healthy work environment and believe in the value of equal opportunities for advancement. We try to promote existing staff and it is rare that we seek people from other organizations for promotion purposes before giving our own staff a chance.
  • Any form of discrimination will not be tolerated and any employee who may have had such an experience is encouraged to report it to their superior.
  • During the recruitment process, a candidate’s country of origin is not an obstacle in any case, as long as the candidate can legally be employed in Cyprus. Nevertheless, we try to give as many employment opportunities as we can to people from the local community. In this way we strengthen the local economy and encourage local people to stay in their community.
  • We always support young people in the first steps of their career. More specifically, we make efforts to hire new talents and give them opportunities to advance within the organization.   • We do not give or receive any form of remuneration from employees before the start of their employment. All employees are hired with a written employment contract that covers the relevant legislation and a copy is given to the employees.
  • All employees receive benefits in accordance with the respective legislation.
  • We do not keep original personal documents of their employers such as passports and identity cards.
  • In the event of an employee’s departure (even before the end of the contract) he/she receives all benefits and salary based on the applicable legislation and agreements.
  • At our hotel, the well-being of our employees is a priority, and we treat them with the respect they deserve. We believe in coaching, and this is the management style we apply for the development of our employees.

 

Social Policy

The basic principle and commitment of our hotel is to minimize the negative impacts on the local community from the operation of our unit.

We take actions to help the local community financially and socially. It is our obligation to support their needs and to assess the risks of our actions according to the effects on the local environment.

Where possible our hotel offers in-kind (e.g. food and linen) to the local community.

Our hotel promotes the local area and Cyprus ensuring the best possible social and economic results for the local and wider Cypriot society.

We support and work with local suppliers and service providers helping the local economy by supporting more jobs and reducing our energy footprint for transporting goods.

Our hotel employs most of its workers from the local community. This has a very positive social and economic effect and allows the local community to have greater development.

Additionally, we aim to employ a balanced number of women and men to ensure gender equality.

This policy applies to all decisions, terms and conditions of employment, customer service, supplier, and service provider contracts. Our company is committed to the implementation of the relevant legislation for the protection of minors and to respect the rights of children. This commitment also extends to the children of customers, and we are determined to protect them from any form of exploitation, including sexual exploitation.

This is a last-minute booking. Last minute bookings cannot be modified or cancelled without penalty. If you like to modify or cancel this booking, please check our Cancellation Penalty Policy below and contact our reservation department.

Guests can cancel free of charge until 7 days before arrival. In such a case the 30% prepayment deposit will be returned to your credit card.
If cancelled within the 7 days before arrival period, the 30% prepayment deposit will not be refunded and will be kept as a cancellation fee.
In case of no-show, 100% of total reservation amount will be charged as a cancellation fee.
In case of Early Departure, 50% of the remaining unused stay will be charged.

Obligatory nature of providing the data

User’s Responsibility

The User:

Guarantees that they are of legal age or legally emancipated, where applicable, fully capable, and that the information furnished to us is true, accurate, complete and up-to-date. For these purposes, the User is responsible for the truthfulness of all the data communicated and will keep the information updated, so that said data reflects their actual situation.

Guarantees that he/she has informed third parties on whose behalf he/she has provided data, where applicable, of the aspects contained in this document. Also guarantees that he/she has obtained the third party’s authorisation to provide their data to us for the purposes indicated.

Will be responsible for false or inaccurate information provided through the Website and for damages, whether direct or indirect, that this may cause to us or third parties.

Exercise of Rights

The User may contact us at any time free of charge, to:

  • To obtain confirmation about whether or not personal data concerning the User are being processed by us.
  • To access their personal details.
  • To rectify any inaccurate or incomplete data.

Legitimate interest for processing your data

Our data is stored in the cloud using Amazon Web Services in N. Virginia, USA and in Frankfurt, Germany. If you are accessing any of our systems from outside the USA, you acknowledge that your personal information may be transferred to the USA, a jurisdiction which may have different privacy and data security protections from those of your own jurisdiction, to be processed and stored.

User’s Responsibility

The User:

Guarantees that they are of legal age or legally emancipated, where applicable, fully capable, and that the information furnished to us is true, accurate, complete and up-to-date. For these purposes, the User is responsible for the truthfulness of all the data communicated and will keep the information updated, so that said data reflects their actual situation.

Guarantees that he/she has informed third parties on whose behalf he/she has provided data, where applicable, of the aspects contained in this document. Also guarantees that he/she has obtained the third party’s authorisation to provide their data to us for the purposes indicated.

Will be responsible for false or inaccurate information provided through the Website and for damages, whether direct or indirect, that this may cause to us or third parties.

Exercise of Rights

The User may contact us at any time free of charge, to:

  • To obtain confirmation about whether or not personal data concerning the User are being processed by us.
  • To access their personal details.
  • To rectify any inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • To request the deletion of their personal data when, among other reasons, the data are no longer necessary for the purposes for which they were collected.
  • To confirm revocation of consent.
  • To obtain from us the limitation of data processing when any of the conditions provided in the data protection regulations are met.
